There are no threats to the species' habitat at present, but there are plans to build a road along the Serranía de los Paraguas that will threaten the species' habitat in the future if it goes ahead as planned.

It is not currently recorded from any protected area, but there are ongoing efforts to transform the Serrania de los Paraguas into a wildlife reserve. There is a need for close population monitoring of this species given its very limited range.
