Range Description

Pyrrhura eisenmanni is known only from Cerro Hoya National Park in Veraguas and Los Santos provinces, southern Panama. The global range is considered to be less than 700 km2, but within this the species has been characterised as locally common up to 1,660 m (Juniper and Parr 1998, Forshaw 2006, 2010, Montañez and Angehr 2007). However the population has been estimated to number fewer than 2,000 individuals (World Parrot Trust 2014), and is regarded as threatened at the national level (Montañez and Angehr 2007).
