Most information seems to come from an outdated, and geographically limited source. Thus the statement primarily insectivorous is incorrect, because later studies have shown this mongoose concentrates primarily on rodents. Also it may not inhabit grasslands according to one author, but it does according to Crawford, et al., 1983, and others have described it in a broad range of habitats. Other information may be correct for that region especially.
