Annette Olson commented on an older version of "Banded mongoose":
This article provides a lot of good information from good resources, but could be improved in terms of physical description (by providing references for that), and of social behavior. Most of the description for social behavior comes from 1-2 articles, and describes some of the aggressive behaviors. The addition of descriptions of other behaviors, such as the potential need for obligate communal breeding, allosuckling, guarding, babysitting, mutual grooming, and general dominance, would help indicate the complex social behaviors of this species. A citation is needed for the interspecific interaction section regarding baboons, though interactions with hornbills have been described by Anne Rasa in 1983.

Annette Olson commented on "File:Brehms Het Leven der Dieren Zoogdieren Orde 4 Mungo (Herpestes mungo).jpg":
According to Wilson and Reeder, 3rd edition, Herpestes mungo is now associated with Herpestes edwardsii, not Mungos mungo. (as drawing also indicates, as there are no stripes).
