Range DescriptionThis species is endemic to the island of Madagascar. Groves (2000, 2001), in revising the genus, limited its range to the dry forests of western Madagascar. However, subsequent field studies and genetic analyses have extended the species' range all the way to the southern tip of Madagascar and into the evergreen humid forest of Saint Luce, 40 km north-east of Tolagnaro in southeastern Madagascar (Hapke et al. 2005). The range of the species relative to C. adipicaudatus is not clear. Ranges from sea-level to 800 m.
