Range Description

This species occurs in the montane regions of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (in the Virunga Volcanoes area), Rwanda, Burundi, southwestern Uganda, southeastern Kenya (in the Taita Hills), and Tanzania (Usambara, and Uluguru Mountains and the Southern Highlands). Its altitudinal range is still unclear, though it seems to be montane, occurring as low as 900m asl in northeastern Tanzania. The animals in Kenya and Tanzania should probably be separated from A adolfifriederici under the name A. leleupi. A record from Tanga near sea level in northeastern Tanzania requires confirmation.
