This species is found throughout the Indo-Pacific excluding Hawaii (Röckel et al. 1995). Both the EOO and AOO exceed the threshold for criteria B1 and B2.

Habitat and Ecology
This species is found from shallow water to 40 m in sand and coral rubble and on coral reefs. It also shelters beneath coral rocks. This is a molluscivorous species. Once mature it can reach a size ranging from 55 to 114 mm (Röckel et al. 1995).
