Range Description

This species is reported from east Africa including Kenya and Madagascar. It has also been reported from Apo Island Philippines (Kerr et al. 2006) and Yap, Micronesia (Friedman et al. 2008). This species is not known from any other locations in the Philippines.

Description

Colour in life: bold camouflage pattern in deep brown and beige, tube feet spread over surface give white dotted surface and often hold marine angiosperm leaves over the surface of the animal (cd. Tripneustes gratilla) (Humphreys, 1981). Also distributed in South Pacific Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971).
