Brief Summary

The house of the great ramshorn snail resembles the horn of a ram, therefore the name. Adult snails feed on rotting plants and organic matter, while young snails eat mostly algae. Just like the pond snail, the ramshorn snail has lungs and must swim to the surface to breath. It is one of the few snails to have red blood.
