Epiphytic climbing species. Leaves large, leathery, entire or pinnatifid, with a perforated lamina (in our species). Petiole long and sheathing. Spathes boat-shaped, early deciduous, subtending the thick, densely-flowered spadix. Carpels truncate at the apex. Ovary 2-locular with 2 ovules per loculus. Fruit edible.
