Author citation and year is missing, which is of a certain importance here due to the rediscription of the species in 1972 and which is authoritative as far as I know. (Clifford Desch, William B. Nutting: Demodex folliculorum (Simon) and D. brevis Akbulatova of Man: Redescription and Reevaluation. In: The Journal of Parasitology, 58:1 (Feb., 1972), 169-177 It is rather regrettably that this paper has not been used, as the given description conflicts with it and contains errors (i.e. the relation of size of male to female is not correct). The male is larger than the female? I assume this
