Description

Herbs, not smelling of onions. Rootstock a bulb. Flowers in umbels, subtended by a spathe of 2 bracts connate at the base. Perianth funnel-shaped, without a corona; segments connate at base into a short tube. Stamens and style straight. Capsule membranous. Seeds angled, not winged, black.

Nothoscordum is a genus in the flowering plant family Amaryllidaceae, subfamily Allioideae.[1] It contains 24 to 26 species.[2] It is probably paraphyletic.[3]
