Description of Leptomyxida

Amoebae commonly flattened. Wide range of forms within the order, from uninucleate elongate forms to multinucleate plasmodial amoebae which can be reticulate or branched. Some amoebae produce monopodial stages which are eruptive, otherwise locomotion generally slow and steady.
