Monomorphic, diplokaryotic throughout known life cycle; spores, 3.6 x 2.3 µm, are ovoid and diplokaryotic. Exospore is thin and endospore moderate; polaroplast is lamellar, not clearly resolved; polar tube is isofilar with about 8 coils; posterior vacuole is filled with large globules representing the residuum of the Golgi vesicles; type species P. szollozi Sprague, 1977 in eggs of Armandia brevis (Annelida, Polychaeta).Trusted
