Description of Discophryidae

Body ovoid, spherical or pyriform, with or without stalk; tentacles thin, often long, and capitate; swarmers, large, flattened or elongate ovoid, with somatic kineties typically marginal; many species ectosymbionts on marine and freshwater organisms; eight genera.
