Description of Amphorella brandti

Tintinnid ciliate, lorica with total length 107-190 microns (usually 130-160 microns), diameter at mouth 38-45 microns, diameter at neck 22-28 microns, greatest diameter of body 29-35 microns. This species has a slender form and flares towards the mouth. Although the dimensions of the oral part remain pretty constant, the length varies considerably. Three fins are present, as in the last species. The lorica is widest in its lower third, and then narrows to a truncated tip.
