Glabrous to glaucous, perennial, shrubby tendril climber. Leaves with filiform, 1.2-2 cm long, glabrous; petiole bearing 2-4 irregularly arranged stipitate globose glands; lamina oblate-orbicular, cordate at the base, deeply 5-lobed, lobes oblong-lanceolate or lanceolate, margin entire-glandular, apex acute, mucronate; stipules reniform, l-l.5 cm long, 6-8 mm wide, with serrate-glandular margin, acute-mucronate. Flowers solitary axillary on 3-5 cm long stout peduncle, somewhat fragrant, 6-7 cm across; pedicel 4-5 mm long; bracts foliaceous, glandular, ovate, 2-2.5 cm long, 1.4-l.6 cm wide, entire, obtuse. Sepals 5, oblong, 2.5-3.5 cm long, 1-1.5 cm broad, pale-green. Petals 5, oblong-lanceolate, 2.4-2.6 cm long, 1-1.2 cm broad, obtuse, pale pink. Corona biseriate, blue at the apex, white in the middle and purple at the base. Stamens 5, filaments 6-7 mm long; anthers c. 1 cm long. Ovary ovoid, c. 4 mm long, c. 3 mm in diameter, somewhat ribbed; gynophore 1.2-1.5 cm long; styles clavate, 1-l.2 cm long, light purple. Fruit ovoid, 4.5-5 cm long, 3-3.5 cm in diameter, orange-yellow.
