Description of Trypanosomatina

Kinetoplastid flagellates, single locomotory flagellum; either a free structure or attached along the body to form an undulating membrane; kinetoplast relatively small; cytostome, if present lacks associated oral structures. All parasitic, non-phagotrophic species.
