Description of Mastigamoebidae

Flagellated cells with or without simple or branched, hyaline pseudopodia during amoeboid motion. Swimming is erratic with the single, languidly beating flagellum directed forward. Species with one or several nuclei, with a life cycle which may include amoebae without flagella, and cysts.
