The Eutheria, also known as "placental mammals", Eutherians or in general as "mammals", are a group of 4000 species of mammals. These mammals are part of the subclass Theria. The majority of placentals mammals are either bats or rodents. What we have in mind when someone says "placental mammals" is just a tiny fraction of species of placental mammals.
