DescriptionMuch-branched small shrub, usually less than 2 m tall. Leaves pinnate with 6-9 pairs of leaflets and a terminal leaflet.Branches and leaves covered in rusty-brown hairs. Flowers in well-spaced terminal racemes, purple; calyx densely hairy. Pods flat, strongly curved upwards, covered in rusty hairs. Var. evansii, in Zimbabwe, is only found in the South and can be distinguished by the hairs being greyish and the slightly larger pods.
