This species is endemic to the transverse volcanic belt of central Mexico (states of Morelos, Michoacán, Jalisco, and Mexico).
This species is recognized by the dark blue integument, the dense apical hair bands on terga 2-5, and in the female the distinctive sparse bent hairs of the clypeus and fronts.
