North American Ecology (US and Canada)Resident in north western Canada through Alaska (Scott 1986). Habitats are Canadian to lower arctic zone cranberry swamps, forest clearings and tundra. (Also ranges from n. Europe to Japan). Host plants are largely restricted to one genus, Vaccinium (Ericaceae). Individuals overwinter as larvae. There is one flight each year with the approximate flight time July1-July15 (Scott 1986).
