Resembles Tubulanus superbus but color pattern differs. This species has two paired lateral lines that extend the entire body length. The mouth is positioned between bands 1 and 2 and does not pierce band 2 (unlike Tubulanus superbus).

General Description
Dark brown or brown-red color with five fine white longitudinal lines, numerous white rings. Two paired lateral lines extend the whole body length. A midventral line comes off of the second band. The mouth is positioned between bands 1 and 2 and does not pierce band 2 (unlike Tubulanus superbus).
