Description

Small. Grows from short creeping stolons with a short stipe which flattens to form a parallel-sided blade about 1 cm wide and 10 cms long. May branch once or twice dichotomously. Phyllophora sicula; Rhodymenia pseudopalmata.

Generally of western distribution in the British Isles, from Shetland to Scilly Isles. Europe: Mediterranean, Portugal, Spain and France. Further afield: Chile; south and south-west Africa.
