Description of Hyalophacus

Euglenid, swimming, flattened, with longitudinal ridges, cell broad anteriorly narrowed posteriorly, and with posterior spike, eyespot present, like Phacus but without plastids; one species Hyalophacus ocellatus Pringsheim 1936.
