Comments: According to Harris and Ladd (2008), Kalb considered Chrysothrix xanthina a subtropical/tropical taxon and cited a single Florida specimen, however, they found that material they examined from throughout eastern North America is indistinguishable from his concept. Esslinger (2012) accepts it in the checklist for the continental U.S and Canada.
