Range Description

This species is found in the Ligurian Alps between Sestri Levante and Levanto, in Italy. The range is very restricted, as the species is only found in springs and in subterranean waters.It has been collected in 30 sites, but eight of them were from floodline debris of rivers, so known from about 20 springs, in a restricted area in Liguria, less than 20 km in length. Only the shells and the specimens published in the paper has been collected, with less than 250 specimens and living specimens have been found only in springs (Bodon, Cianfanelli and Lori, pers. comm. 2010).
