Depth: 3 - 18m.
From 3 to 18 meters.

Habitat: demersal. Found on coral or rocky patches. Was originally described from specimens collected by Captain E. Belcher from "China" and "China Seas" specimens have since been shown to come from various localities. Pseudochromis perspicillatus is presently known only from the Philippines and Indonesia.
