Biology

Occur inshore over sand and mud with seagrass, taking refuge among tentacles of snake locks sea anemone Anemonia sulcata (Ref. 4696). Resistant against the strong poison of the snake-locks anemone Anemone viridis (Ref. 92840). Also found in inshore pools (Ref. 4696). Macrobenthos feeder on hard substrates (Ref. 92840), feed on polychaetes, crustaceans (esp. amphipods) mollusks and algae. Sexually mature at one year, 3.4-3.8 cm (Ref. 4696).
