Distinguished from other species of Cyanocharax by the large number of branched anal-fin rays (31-32 in the syntypes and 28-35, mostly 29-33) and the convex profile of the anal fin (Ref. 54760).Description: Anal-fin rays iv,32; iv,31. Dorsal-fin rays ii,8. Pelvic-fin rays i,6. Pectoral-fin rays i,10 (Ref. 54760).
