Diagnostic Description
Scales rather large, with short, slender, conical spinules, many with broadened bases, arranged in widely divergent V rows or quincunx pattern. Snout with a black margin along its leading edge, extending posteriorly to suborbital shelf, over supranarial ridges, and dorsal rim of orbits; first dorsal fin with a prominent black blotch distally.
