BiologyAdults inhabit outer coral or rocky reefs. They usually form large aggregations in shallow waters e.g. in lagoons; feeding well above the bottom on zooplankton (Ref. 2334). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
