Atherinella eriarcha (Jordan & Gilbert, 1882)
Body relatively deep, its depth about 5.0 in SL; abdomen rounded in cross section, not compressed into a keel; 2 pairs of sensory tubes on snout fused in center; lower jaw not enclosed by upper jaw when mouth is closed; dorsal rays IV+I, 11-12, first dorsal over origin of anal fin; anal rays I, 27; pectoral fins short, reaching to about middle of pelvic fins; scales smooth; mid-side scales about 48-49; at most a couple of scales on front of base of anal fin.
Translucent pale olive with narrow dark scale outlines and broad silver midlateral band, narrowing to rear to a large triangle at the tail fin base.
Size: reaches at least 8 cm.
Habitat: forms aggregations in shallow bays and near coastal reefs.
Depth: 0-10 m?
Southern Baja and the lower 2/3 of the Gulf of California to Colombia, the Revillagigedos and Cocos.
