Biology

Occurs in swamps, sloughs, vegetated pools, and backwaters of sluggish creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294). 7.5 cm max TL (Ref. 5723). Feeds primarily on insects (Ref. 10294). Not a seasonal killifish. Is easy to maintain in the aquarium (Ref. 27139).
