Evangelos Tzanatos commented on an older version of Image of Peristedion gracile:

While Peristedion is considered to be a gurnard in common name, the genus is classified in the family Peristediidae and not Triglidae. Thus this photo should not appear in the page of the family Triglidae.

While similar to the Triglidae gurnards, the genus Peristedion belongs to the family Peristediidae and not Triglidae, so this photo should not appear in Triglidae but in Peristediidae instead.

Evangelos Tzanatos commented on an older version of Image of Peristedion gracile:

While similar to the Triglidae gurnards in appearence, Peristedion is a genus belonging to the separate family Peristediidae (both families of the order Scorpaeniformes). Thus the photo should not be included in the Triglidae family information. See also WoRMS, fishbase.
