Biology

Found in freshwater sections of torrent streams, in clear, cool, fast flowing water over a substrate of sand, rocks and large granite boulders. Largely carnivorous, subsisting on small fish, crustaceans and insects. Seems to be nocturnal, emerging into the open at night. Also Ref. 84801.
