Description of Lamproderma

Kowalski (1970) recognized 21 species but over 25 species have now been described. Members of this genus are mostly montane but the most cosmopolitan and common species, L. arcyrionema Rost., L. arcyrioides (Sommerf.) Rost., and L. scintillans (Berk. & Br.) Morgan, are found in lowland areas.
