Poanes hobomok is a year-round resident across most of the eastern United States and southeastern Canada, with separate populations in Colorado and New Mexico (Scott 1986). Habitats are wooded areas. Host plants are grasses especially from two genera: Panicum, Poa. Eggs are laid on or near the host plant singly. There is one flight each year with the approximate flight time mostly June 1-early July in the northern part of the range and late Apr.-May 31 in the southern part of their range (Scott 1986).Trusted
