Range Description

Parachanna insignis is known from throughout the Congo River basin, and from Pool Malebo (Stanley Pool). It is also known from just upstream of Kisangani. In the Lower Guinea, the species is not very abundant but is known from the Ogowe at Franceville, Gabon (type locality) and the Kouilou (Congo Brazzaville).
