Habitat: benthopelagic. Striped grunter. (Gilchrist & Thompson, 1908) Attains 22 cm. Rare in our area; occasionally thrown up after storms. Known originally from Knysna to Beira. Now recorded from the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez.
