BiologyAdults inhabit coral-rich areas of outer reef slopes (Ref. 9710). They occur in small groups. Juveniles stay close to substrate but adults may swim high above to feed on zooplankton (Ref. 48636). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
