Biology

Crossota norvegica does not have a sessile stage; rather, they spend their entire lives as plankton. They only reproduce sexually as medusa and never form polyps. They are a brilliant, blood-red color and have been observed as deep as 2600 meters under the deep Arctic Canada Basin.
