Linuche unguiculata medusae are prevalent in the western, tropical Atlantic Ocean. In the neotropical region, it is found in the West Indian and Bahama regions.

Linuche aquila, a sister species to L. unguiculata, has also been found near the Julian Reef of Palau, Papua New Guinea, in the Pacific and Indian Ocean region.
