Aequorea macrodactyla is a hydromedusa with a flat, transparent bell and numerous radial canals. Diameter up to 10 cm. Species of Aequorea prey on other gelatinous zooplankton. All are bioluminescent, and the original source of Green Fluorescent Protein.
