Colonies are massive with round corallites of varying sizes. Calices are shallow, approximately 6-13 mm in diameter, with tightly compacted septa. Columellae are large and small paliform lobes are usually developed. Colour: Very variable but usually several colours, including grey, green, orange and pink, are arranged concentrically to the corallites. Abundance: usually uncommon, found on protected reef slopes. (Veron, 1986 <57>)
