North American Ecology (US and Canada)

Polites sonora is a year-round resident in a patchy distribution in the western United States, from southern British Columbia to northern Baja, and west into the Rocky Mountains (Scott 1986). Habitats are transition to Hudsonian/Canadian zone moist meadows. Host plants are unknown. There is one flight each year with the approximate flight time mostly late June ?Aug. 15 (Scott 1986).
