Stamnaria equiseti (Hoffm.) Saccardo syn S. persoonii

Stamnaria equiseti was proved to be synonymous to S. persoonii, since Hoffmans delineation in Veg. crypt II: 17, tab. 5, fig. 1 (1790) matches types of S. persoonii, furthermore the host in this delineation looks like decaying Equisetum fluviatile, main host of this ascomycete.

S. equiseti got priority, having earlier basionym than S. personii, since the starting-date for mycologic taxonomy was dropped. For S. persoonii being the more regularly applied name which should be known by more mycologists than S. equiseti, i do suggest conservation of the former.
