North American Ecology (US and Canada)

Euphyes pilatka is a year-round resident along the U.S. eastern seaboard, Gulf coast, and throughout Florida (Scott 1986). Habitats are subtropical and southern marshes near the coast. Host plant is the sedge species Cladium jamaicense (Cyperaceae). There are multiple flights all year in Florida, and apparently two flights northward, with approximate flight times June1-June 30 and Aug.1-Sept.30 (Scott 1986).
