Global Range: (250-5000 square km (about 100-2000 square miles)) Restricted to the "sky islands" of the Huachuca Mountains and Chiricahua (Vaughanand M. D. Shepherd, 2005) mountains in southeastern Arizona and a range in adjacent Sonora, Mexico, mainly above 1800 meters (Bailowitz and Brock, 1991).
